The illusion of words.

When they meant nothing,
When forced aloud.
And told me stories,
When silences reigned.

Words those you uttered,
Claiming to believe,
Those you knew were never,
The embraces between.

Words that mocked hollow,
Behind cracking masks,
Bare faced notes,
Turned sour and stale.

Your words like winds,
Those uprooted all.
My silences like breeze,
That caressed hopes.

Mere words that failed again,
Your mendacious claims,
Stomping my naive belief.

Mysteriously failing words.
